Egypt's Minister of Health Hala Zayed said on Saturday the 22 injured in the fire which swept through palm plantations on Friday in El-Rashda village in the New Valley governorate have all recovered.
According to the statement from Zayed, those injured had suffered from smoke inhalation or minor burns.
Authorities had declared a high state of emergency in the area and evacuated houses, as 30 fire trucks - backed by four fire-fighting helicopters - brought the flames under control.
New Valley Governor Mohamed El-Zamlout was quoted as saying that the fire had affected an area of around 100-feddan (104 acre) of mainly palm plantations, and had threatened to spread to another village in the southwestern governorate before the fire was halted by the efforts of the emergecy services.
