Egyptian and French naval forces have carried out a maritime training exercise in the northern Mediterranean.

The training activities included drills to meet the challenges facing maritime security, combating terrorism as well as protecting vital sea targets such as ships carrying gas and oil.

The training included anti-air defence and protecting ships with important cargo while crossing dangerous areas.

The forces were also trained to inspect suspicious vessels.

In March, the Egyptian and French navies conducted a joint military drill in the Red Sea as part of the ongoing military partnership and cooperation between the two countries.
