Egypt's meteorologists expect rainfall to continue in several parts of the country on Friday as temperatures are forecast to remain steady.

The Egyptian Metrological Authority said that rains are expected along country's northern coast, Nile Delta cities and North Sinai. I may also rain in the capital Cairo.

Temperatures on Friday are expected to remain steady, with highs of 24 degrees Celsius and lows of 16 expected in Cairo. Temperatures will slightly rise by 1-2 degrees on Saturday and Friday, the authority's four-day forecast shows.

Several parts of the country were hit with heavy rains on Wednesday, including the Mediterranean city of Alexandria and the governorates of Gharbiya, Kafr El-Sheikh and South Sinai.

The unstable weather conditions prompted authorities to shut down major highways and caused traffic congestions in some regions.
