UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon told Al-Hayat daily Saturday that he opposes the execution of Egypt’s ousted president, Hosni Mubarak, adding that the United Nations has adopted a resolution demanding of all states not to apply the death penalty.
The prosecution in Mubarak’s trial has called for the former president to be executed for failing to stop the killing of protesters during the 18-day uprising that led to his ouster.
