Egypt's Administrative Control Authority (ACA) announced on Thursday the arrest of three former officials in Marsa Matrouh governorate on corruption charges, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.

The Egyptian anti-graft agency ordered the arrest of the governorate's former secretary-general, his deputy, and the former head of legal affairs on charges including "facilitating the embezzlement of up to EGP 500 million in public money."

The prosecution has ordered the suspects detained for 15 days pending investigation.

This is the latest in a string of corruption cases brought by the ACA against state officials in recent months.
