Egypt's Transportation Minister resigns over fatal train accident

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has accepted the resignation of Minister of Transportation Hisham Arafat, Al-Ahram Arabic website reported shortly after a fatal train accident.

At least 20 people were killed and 40 others were injured when a blaze broke out in Cairo's Ramses Railway Station early Wednesday, according to state TV.

Medical sources at the scene told Ahram Online that many of the injured are in critical condition, having sustained severe burns. The Red Crescent has dispatched ambulances to the station ‎where people can donate blood. ‎
