Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament Ali Abdel Aal said on Monday that Egypt backs the Jordanian government's reforms especially the economic ones.

In a meeting with Jordan's Prime Minister Omar Al Razzaz on the fringe of the 29th edition of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union conference, currently being held in Amman, Abdel Aal stressed the importance of holding meetings of the Egyptian-Jordanian committee periodically, pointing to the need to hold the next session of the joint committee in Cairo as soon as possible.

The Egyptian speaker congratulated Razzaz on rendering the Arab meeting successful, a matter which reflects Amman's important regional standing.

The get-together touched on the positive developments in bilateral relations over the past period and continuing coordination at all levels in light of the challenges faced by the region.

The Jordanian premier, for his part, hailed ties with Egypt, affirming the importance of boosting trade exchange and joint investments.
