During a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Communications Amr Talaat on Thursday, Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi called for applying the latest technologies and global criteria in the implementation of the communications and IT projects.
The president directed the government to invest in human resources through increasing training programmes to cope with labour market requirements, Egypt's presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.
El-Sisi stressed that communications and information technology are a top priority for the state given their vital role in the economic and societal development process.
El-Sisi also directed the speeding up of the pace of work in IT projects to advance the move towards digital government, facilitating better services for citizens.
Taalat briefed the meeting on the communication ministry’s ongoing projects in the field of artificial intelligence vis-a-vis the country’s ambitious development plan.
