High humidity raises sense of hot weather in Egypt this week

The head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA), Ahmed Abdel-Aal, said that citizens may feel the weather is hotter this week despite moderate temperatures due to high humidity levels, which will reach 80 percent this week.

Abdel-Aal said that Sunday's weather is mild on the northern coasts, Cairo and the Nile Delta, and hot in Upper Egypt.

Starting Monday, temperatures are expected to rise gradually by an average of 1-2 degrees, reaching a maximum of 38 degrees in Cairo, according to Abdel-Aal.
