President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued on Monday Presidential Decree No. 230/2019 considering as a public utility el-Arish port and all its facilities, except military sites used for national defense purposes.
The decree stipulates that the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) shall be tasked with funding, running, operating and upgrading the port.
The decree has been published in the official gazette.
