An Egyptian medical convoy specialized in paediatric surgery began a visit to Tanzania on Friday.
Mohammed Gaber Abul Wafa, the Egyptian ambassador to Tanzania, said that the visit is part of the two countries’ cooperation in all fields, and added that Egypt is keen to deploy its experience in the field of health to serve the Tanzanian people.
The visit, which will last until Sunday, has been organised by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), Alexandria University, and the Paediatric Surgery and Congenital Anomaly Patient Support Society.
According to the ambassador, this is the sixth visit by the convoy to Tanzania since 2014, and hundreds of operations have been conducted on children so far.
Tanzanian Health Minister Ummy Mwalimu has hailed Egypt's efforts in supporting the health sector in her country.
