The promotional video for the "People To People" Campaign won the Middle East's Best Promotional Film Award from the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) on Thursday.

This came as part of Egyptian Minister of Tourism Rania Al-Mashat's participation in the meetings of the 23rd session of the General Assembly of the UNWTO, which is held from 9 to 13 September in Russia's St Petersburg, according to a statement by the ministry.

The video was launched by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism last month within the framework of the revitalisation of the structural reform programme to develop the tourism sector.

The campaign video highlights the different experiences Egypt has to offer in gastronomy, culture, and various activities.

Earlier, Al-Mashat said that 'People To People' is a campaign that "reawakens the power of human-to-human connection. The campaign video highlights the fact that beyond our known destinations, landmarks, and year-round sunshine, Egypt moves, astonishes and awakens the senses of visitors, not only through its places but through its people as well, inviting the people of the world to connect with us and experience Egypt’s dynamic and vibrant culture."

The Egyptians, she added, "are people of pride, passion, peace, progress and productivity.”

“Looking ahead, I genuinely believe the Egyptian people themselves can and will make an enormous contribution to the future success of the tourism sector."
