Egypt’s PM opens Investor Service Center, other development projects in Port Said governorate

Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly opened on Thursday the Investor Service Center in Port Said governorate in the presence of Investment Minister Sahar Nasr and Port Said Governor Adel El Ghadban, along with a number of ministers and governors.

During his visit to the Mediterranean Suez Canal governorate of Port Said on Thursday, the Prime Minister lauded the services that the center offers in view of the swift issuance of licences needed for the establishment of companies.Madbouy also inspected renovation works at Port Said Free Zone which currently groups 83 projects with capital of $1 billion and investments hitting $2.4 billion. 

The volume of activity registered by the Port Said Free Zone in 2018/2019 fiscal year including exports amounted to about $2.2 billion.

The Prime Minister, along with Minister of Communications Amr Talaat and Port Said also launched the digital transformation portal for the governorate.

Madbouly listened to an explanation from the communications minister about efforts exerted to upgrade infrastructure to allow for digital transformation in Port Said.

Talaat said 648 government buildings and institutions have been modernized in the governorate as part of the 2019 digital transformation plan.

The updated government buildings cover, among others, the sectors of health, supply, registration, traffic, public prosecution, police and courts, according to the minister.

Meanwhile, the premier opened a technology center and was briefed by Planning Minister Hala el Saeed on the services offered to citizens by the center. 

The Prime Minister also inspected development works at Port Said City Hall.

During his inspection tour, the premier was given a detailed explanation by on the renovation works of the eight-story building.

The Prime Minister and his accompanying delegation later toured Al Salam Hospital in Port Said governorate.

Madbouly was posted on details about the hospital that comprises five buildings and 13 outpatient clinics.
