Egyptian authorities have revoked the license of a pilot after a video showed Egyptian popstar Mohamed Ramadan sitting at the controls of a private jet while it was in flight.
It has also decided to suspend the license of the co-pilot involved for a year.
The decision, which the ministry said is part of “deterrent measures towards irresponsible acts,” comes less than a week after the two men were suspended by the ministry.
A video posted on Instagram by Ramadan, a popular actor and singer, showed him sitting in the co-pilot’s seat in the cockpit of a plane and apparently manipulating the controls.
It was later reported that the plane was a private jet which he had commissioned to take him to Riyadh.
"In a first-of-a-kind experience, I will fly the plane," Ramadan, who is known for flaunting luxury cars and his expensively decorated mansion on social media, says in the video.
"I swear to God, Mohamed Ramadan is the one flying the plane now," an unidentified man is heard saying in the video.
