Gov't working to achieve economic reform, growth sustainability: Egypt's PM

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Thursday that the government is continuing to work on achieving economic reform and sustained growth with active participation from the private sector, civil society and all international partners in development.

The PM made the remarks in a speech he delivered during a celebration of the Egypt Government Excellence Award, in the presence of Planning Minister Hala El-Saeed and UAE Minister of Cabinet Affairs and the Future Mohamed El-Gergawi. 

The government has come a long way in providing a suitable business climate via legislative and institutional reforms, Madbouly said.

He also pointed out the infrastructure projects being carried out in Egypt and the new mechanisms created to encourage the private sector to participate in development efforts. 

In this regard, the prime minister highlighted the launch of Egypt's Sovereign Wealth Fund, which aims to establish partnership with local and foreign private sectors as well as to engage in cooperation with international sovereign funds and direct investment funds.
