The ride-hailing company Careem has launched, in collaboration with Fawry, a pioneer in digital technology services, a special application for Careem drivers through which they can collect points and redeem them from a large list of merchants within Fawry's expanding "loyalty programme."
Managing director of Careem Egypt, Wael Abou El-Ela, expressed his delight at this unique partnership with Fawry, a leading fintech company founded in 2008 with 125,000 outlets all across Egypt.
"Such a partnership will enable us to satisfy all Careem drivers and increase their loyalty to the company, where all Careem drivers will be able to take advantage of this programme with its four levels: Gold, Silver, Bronze and Careem level (the highest level where drivers can collect points)," Abou El-Ela added.
For his part, Mohamed Okasha, managing director of Fawry, said the new application has been developed as part of a loyalty programme where Careem drivers can collect points and redeem them from a large number of shops, including grocery stores and clothes shops, as well as entertainment outlets like cinemas and others.
Okasha added that this agreement comes within the framework of Fawry's plan to care for professionals by targeting new segments in the coming period, especially after the recent success and popularity of its general loyalty programme.
Fawry has signed several partnerships with major entities lately, most recently the launch of a loyalty programme with Al-Mashreq bank.
Careem is a transportation network company leader in car booking, with operations in over 100 cities in 14 countries in the Middle East, North Africa and Pakistan.
Fawry offers a convenient and reliable way to pay bills and other services in multiple channels (online, using ATMs, mobile wallets and at retail points). Fawry’s network of retailers includes small groceries, pharmacies and stationaries, as well as post offices, all equipped with point-of-sale machines — the same ones used for credit card payments.
