Egypt's '100 million Health' initiative screened 2.6 million Egyptian women

Egypt's health minister Hala Zayed announced conducting the screening tests on 2.6 million Egyptian women during the first and second phases of  the 100 million Health initiative, which started in July.
 
The total number of examinations conducted in the first phase is  2,157,402 ladies, while the number in the second phase is  around 510,000.
 
Egypt's president-backed initiative takes aim at conducting heath screening tests on 28 million women across the country, health ministry spokesperson Khaled Megahed said.
 
He added that the initiative targets also raising the awareness of reproductive health, family planning, and the importance of the detection of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, blood pressure, and the level of obesity or overweight, in addition to raise awareness of breast self-examination.
