Minister of Transport Kamel El-Wazir discussed Friday with a delegation from the French Development Agency (AFD) means of boosting cooperation in transport projects.

During the meeting, a brief on the current condition for the Cairo Metro’s third line was introduced, along with the outcomes of two workshops, organized in coordination with AFD on benefiting from the international experiences in designing, and managing subways, as well as maximizing the investment potentials within.

The two sides also reviewed future transportation projects, especially in Alexandria, where FDA was ready to fund the tramway project in Alexandria's Raml neighborhood with €100 million.

Also, a contract with a French consulting firm will be finalized soon to carry out studies pertinent to a prospective project to develop Abo Qir metro line in Alexandria.
