Twelve people were killed and three others injured in a road accident early Wednesday in the Nile Delta's Mounfiya governorate.

The accident took place when a truck collided with a microbus carrying passengers near a checkpoint at El-Sadat industrial city.

Eight ambulances were sent to the accident location.

The injured were sent to Shebin El-Kom Hospital while the bodies of fatalities were sent to Sadat General Hospital.

The General Prosecution is currently investigating the accident.
