The first direct charter flight from France arrived at Sharm El-Sheikh International Airport in the early hours of Saturday after several years of hiatus.
The flight, with 137 passengers on board, was flying from Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport, according to Egypt’s Extra News channel.
In the wake of the downing of a Russian passenger jet in October 2015 after taking off from Sharm, which killed all 224 people on board, the UK, Russia and a host of European countries suspended flights to the Red Sea city's airport.
On Thursday, Sharm El-Sheikh received the first direct UK flight, a charter flight carrying 110 passengers, from the country since 2015, two months after the British government lifted a ban on flights to the Red Sea resort town.
