The Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) has issued a code of conduct to regulate child and family-related topics in media outlets.
The council said in a statement on Sunday that the step comes in cooperation with the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood and the American University in Cairo’s Kamal Adham Center with support of the UNICEF.
The code paid much attention to the rights of children with a focus on people with special needs.
The code puts the principles of international conventions on children rights into effect in terms of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to provide protection for children, in general, and people with special needs, in particular, the statement added.
