2019: Egypt's year in pictures

As 2019 comes to a close, Ahram Online takes a look back at some of the pictures that captured the news from Egypt this year.

Although the year got off to a rough start with a blast at a church in Cairo in January, it ended on a positive note with resumption of British and French charter flights to Sharm El-Sheikh airport in December.

In between there were economic announcements, a major sporting tournament and a constitutional referendum – see some of the pictures below.

JANUARY
