Egypt's metro company launches website, mobile app to serve passengers

The Egyptian metro company has launched its website as part of the government's digitisation process.
The website and a metro mobile application were both launched on Wednesday in Arabic and English.
The app is planned to facilitate communication between the metro company and passengers via social media platforms, primarily Facebook and WhatsApp, the company said.
The application also offers the "My Trip" service, which provides the course of travel using Google Map data, it added.
People with special needs will also benefit from the mobile application, which will determine stations with escalators and trains with special seats, the company said.
The digital outlets, the company added, reflect the Ministry of Transport's interest in communicating with passengers who use the metro.
