A wave of unstable weather is forecast to take place across the country from Monday until Friday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Sunday in a statement.
Sandstorms and dust-laden winds are expected to hit various parts of the country, including Greater Cairo, which will reduce horizontal visibility and disturb ship navigation in the Mediterranean and the Red Sea.
Heavy rainfall is predicted across the northern parts of the country; whereas the governorates of lower Egypt are anticipated to witness moderate rain showers, accompanied by a remarkable drop in temperatures, the statement added.
The authority instructed the bodies concerned to all the measures necessary to mitigate the negative effects of adverse weather conditions.
Cairo and Mediterranean city of Alexandra is set to see highs of 17 and 18 degrees Celsius and lows of 8 and 9 degrees, respectively.
