Matt Harding – known as "Dancing Matt" – will appear in Tahrir Square on Sunday at 2pm to shoot a dance scene for his YouTube video series.
The 36-year-old quit his job as a videogame designer in 2003 and went travelling around Asia. When in Hanoi, Vietnam he filmed himself dancing a jig in the street and posted the video online. The video spread rapidly across the internet and attracted the attention of an entertainment company that agreed to sponsor more of his dancing trips.
He has danced in 42 countries over the years and his first video compilation Where The Hell Is Matt? was posted in 2008.
Harding dances either alone or with school children and young people in front of famous landmarks.
The video has received more than 40 million views.
In 2008, he danced in several Arab countries, including Yemen, Kuwait, and the West Bank. This will be his first visit to Egypt after the Arab Spring, as part of an ongoing self-funded project.
"I look forward to dancing badly with you," Harding said on a Facebook page created for the event in Tahrir Square.
The event will begin at 2pm. Filming will take up to one hour.
