President Abdel-Fattah Fattah El-Sisi ordered the implementation of several social protection programmes in support of poor families, head of parliament's Social Solidarity Committee Abdel-Hadi El-Qasbi said on Monday.
During a meeting with a youth delegation, El-Qasbi said the state was keen to provide every possible support for poor families during the implementation of the social economic programmes.
Several presidential initiatives were launched, such as Takaful and Karama, to ensure a decent life for every Egyptian citizen.
"The political leadership was aware of the dangers of the economic transition, which is why state bodies spared no effort to establish security and provide foodstuffs for every citizen," he said.
