Egypt furthers industrial cooperation with Romania

Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation Abdel-Moniem Al-Tarras stressed the importance of cooperation and benefiting from the distinguished experiences of Romania in many areas of manufacturing as part of government efforts to transfer and localise technologies in various fields of manufacturing in cooperation with international expertise.

 
Al-Tarras was speaking during the visit of Gabriel Tutsu, the general manager of the Romanian Romarm Company, and a number of Romanian companies' representatives, in the attendance of the Romanian ambassador in Cairo.
 
The visit comes as part of efforts to strengthen industrial cooperation and investment with Romania in light of Egypt's improved investment climate and Romania's membership in the European Union.
 
The meeting witnessed the signing of a number of memoranda of understanding, and presented the vision of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation on deepening local industrialisation through cooperation with Romanian companies and defining mechanisms to enhance cooperation in joint manufacturing.
 
Al-Tarras stressed the organisation wants to enhance cooperation in the industrial field in order to benefit from the advanced Romanian technology and industrial capabilities available to maximise the proportions of the local component and increase the added value in the local industry.
 
Tutsu expressed Romarm's desire to explore new prospects for investment and to enhance cooperation and joint manufacturing with Egypt, praising the industrial and technical capabilities of the organisation and its role in providing the requirements of the Egyptian Armed Forces, as well as the variety of its civil and defence products.
