Three Egyptian fishermen died and three were injured

Egypt said it is following up on the case of the fishing boat that keeled over in the waters of Saudi Arabia, resulting in the death of three fishermen, a statement by the foreign ministry read on Saturday.

Three Egyptian fishermen were injured as the Saudi boat capsized, said Assistant Foreign Minister for Consulate Affairs and Egyptian Expats Yasser Mahmoud Hashem.

Hisham Fathy, general consul of the Egyptian Consulate in Jeddah, contacted Saudi Authorities to check up on the health conditions of the injured until they were discharged from the hospital.

Fathy is also communicating with relevant authorities to follow up on a search operation of the bodies of the three fishermen and finalise burial procedures.
