Banque du Caire opened its latest branch in Gezira Sporting Club in 6 October city on Monday, part of an expansion strategy to enhance its presence in the new cities.
The opening celebration was attended by Tarek Fayed, chairman and CEO, Amr El Shafei, vice chairman of the board, and a group of sector heads at the bank.
The opening ceremony coincided with the official opening ceremony of the club’s headquarters, which saw the presence of the prime minister and a group of ministers, businessmen and public figures.
The bank plans to open 20 new branches during 2020.
The bank is planning to launch its first “digital branch” this year, to provide banking services by technology, Fayed said.
The bank signed a sponsorship deal with Gezira Sporting Club in 2018 to sponsor the 6 October branch of the club for ten years.
