Egypt launches website to spread awareness about coronavirus
Egypt launched a website to spread awareness among Egyptians about coronavirus that emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan last December, the Egyptian cabinet's media centre said on Monday.
The website provides public information about the deadly virus, such as means of transmission, protective measures, and answers to the most frequent questions about the virus, in addition to the latest updates on the situation nationwide and worldwide in accordance with the World Health Organisation.
Awareness leaflets and banners have been distributed to all ministries and government bodies to raise awareness about the fast-spreading virus in implementation of the directives of Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, Osama Al-Gohary, the prime minister's assistant said.
Earlier today, Egypt announced the second coronavirus case of a Canadian employee who works in an Egypt-hosted oil and gas company. The patient has been isolated in a hospital to receive the necessary medical care.
The epidemic has killed over 3,000 people worldwide, with the vast majority in mainland China and infected 90,000 globally.
