Salaries for Egypt's state employees available through ATMs as of 19 April: Finance ministry

Egypt’s Ministry of Finance announced on Monday that salaries for state employees will be available through ATMs as of 19 April instead of 23 April, according to a statement by the ministry.

The ministry said that the disbursement of salaries will take place over four days according to a specific disbursement schedule to avoid overcrowding at ATMs in accordance with the measures taken to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.

The ministry explained that it has set a disbursement schedule for government and public bodies, adding that workers and employees at the ministries of interior and health take top priority.

According the disbursement schedule, the salaries for 18 ministries and authorities will be available at ATMs as of 19 April, 10 ministries as of 20 April, 16 ministries and authorities as of 21 April, and nine ministries and authorities as of 22 April, clarifying that every ministry and authority can know its disbursement time through the electronic financial system.

The ministry urged employees and workers not to crowd at ATMs and to abide by preventative measures.
