Minister of Health Hala Zayed said Thursday that 919 mild coronavirus cases have been transferred from quarantine hospitals to quarantine university hostels.
In an Egyptian cabinet meeting held via videoconference, Zayed said that 158 coronavirus cases were transferred to the youth hostel in Alexandria, 91 cases to the civilian training hostel centre, 35 cases to Ras El-Bar hostel in Damieta, 114 cases to the university hostel in Dakhalia, 200 cases to hotels and 50 cases to the youth hostel in Luxor, and 48 cases to the youth hostel in Aswan.
There are currently 75 cases in the students hostel in Helwan, 43 cases in the students hostel in Assuit, 51 cases in students hostels in Tanta, 20 cases in the students hostel in Minya, and 36 cases in the university hostel in Bani Soueif, she added.
Zayed added that 326 coronavirus cases have fully recovered and were discharged from quarantine.
Egypt has recorded 3,659 official cases, including 276 deaths and 935 full recoveries.
Zayed revealed that the Covid-19 infection rate in Egypt stands at 36 patients per one million people, according to the latest statistics.
She added that according to studies, the causes of death in coronavirus patients are related to pre-existing chronic diseases including heart disease (at 13.2 percent), diabetes (at 9.2 percent) , high blood pressure (at 8.4 percent), cancer (at 7.6 percent) and chronic chest diseases (at eight percent).
