Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received on Thursday a phone call from UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nickolay Mladenov to discuss coordination on the international action expected in the coming stage as part of the efforts exerted by the Middle East Quartet on Israeli-Palestinian settlement.
During the phone call, Shoukry asserted Egypt’s keenness to provide all support to the UN envoy’s efforts to preserve the peace process.
He also reviewed his contact with the various parties concerned to push forward the efforts for peace and stability in the regional arena as well as to preserve the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and maintain security for all the region’s countries.
This will help the region’s countries address challenges, topped by terrorism, Shoukry said, warning of any unilateral measures that would negatively affect solutions to achieve a just and lasting peace.
Meanwhile, Mladenov asserted his keenness on maintaining full coordination with Egypt as regards the future movements and the efforts to be exerted to resume peace process as per the two-state solution.
