Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi inspected on Wednesday a number of roads and bridges under construction works in east Cairo, the presidency said in a statement.
Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said El-Sisi inspected the bridge between Salah Salem Street and El-Merghani Street, and the one between El-Nasr road and Abbas El-Akkad Street.
Rady said El-Sisi listened to workers on construction sites and followed up on the progress of work. The president also congratulated the workers on the occasion of Eid El-Fitr.
"The president instructed the workers to abide by the time plan in completing the construction projects and stressed on raising their efficiency, taking into account the application of the best safety and security standards," the spokesperson said.
The president praised the new technology currently used for paving roads in Egypt, which is carried out according to the latest international standards through the recycling of asphalt, the statement said.
