Egypt's Immigration Minister Nabila Makram Ebeid
Egypt’s Ministry of Emigration is following up closely with the Egyptian embassy in Saudi Arabia on the case of two Egyptian workers who were murdered in the Kingdom by a Saudi citizen, Minister of Emigration Nabila Makram said on Tuesday.
According to the minister, two Egyptian construction workers were shot dead by a Saudi citizen in an altercation at one of the Saudi man’s construction projects.
The victims were Ezz El-Din Mohamed Abdel-Shafei, 43, and Adel Abdel-Emam Hussein, 37.
The victims’ bodies are still in the custody of the Saudi authorities due to the ongoing investigation.
Minister Makram added that the Saudi citizen who shot and killed the two men turned himself in to the police and confessed to committing the crime.
Makram said that she has trust in the Saudi judiciary and that the perpetrator will receive his punishment according to the Kingdom’s laws.
She also added that the murder was an isolated incident and does not represent the brotherly relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
