Two Egyptian pilots died on Thursday when a small light-sport aircraft crashed in the Red Sea town of El Gouna, Egypt’s civil aviation ministry said.

The two-seater Apollo Fox aircraft, of Airman Sky Sports, crash-landed at El Gouna Airport after a test flight earlier on Thursday, ministry media advisor Bassem Abdel Kerim said in a statement.

The victims are Mohamed Saeed, 61, and Akram Al-Hosary, 63 – both died in hospital.

The civil aviation ministry has formed a special committee to investigate the accident and identify the causes of the crash.
