Egypt reported 115 new coronavirus cases on Monday, the health ministry said, bringing the total infection tally to 96,590 since the outbreak began in February.
The health ministry also reported 13 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the contagion to 5,173.
The statement said that 908 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 60,651.
Egypt's daily tally of new coronavirus cases and its daily death toll have both declined steadily in recent weeks, despite the recent lifting of many lockdown measures.
The daily toll of new cases dropped below the 200-case threshold for the first time since April on 2 August, with the daily toll hovering between 110 and 178 cases.
The new figures are significantly lower than the average of 1,400 daily cases recorded in June and early July.
Egypt’s Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly stressed on Monday it is necessary to continue to adhere to the precautionary measures against the coronavirus pandemic to avoid a resurge in the number of infected cases.
