More than 100,000 tourists have visited Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh since Egypt’s resumption of inbound tourism on July 1, the Ministry of Antiquities and Tourism said on Tuesday.

The number of tourists arriving in Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh has so far exceeded 100,000 tourists, the ministry said.

The tourists come from Belarus, Ukraine, Switzerland, Hungary and Serbia.

The three governorates open to tourists at present are South Sinai, Red Sea and Matrouh.

Most of the tourists have returned home without a case of COVID-19 being observed, said the ministry.
