The April 6 Youth Movement has called for mass demonstrations on Friday, 20 April, dubbing it "Self Determination Friday". The youth group released a statement on Tuesday condemning the path the country is currently taking, and calling on Egyptians to retake Tahrir Square to regain the revolution's path.
The group's statement named four main demands, including a stand against Article 28 of the constitutional declaration, which gives the Supreme Presidential Electoral Commission supervising the presidential elections immunity from appeal.
The statement also demanded a stand against the criteria set for choosing the Constituent Assembly, arguing it should be representative of the whole nation and not Parliament's majority alone.
The movement also said that rejecting the candidacy of former regime figures in the presidential elections should be another priority. Finally, the group called on all presidential hopefuls to stand united in defending the revolution's demands.
