Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is set to travel to Kuwait on Saturday to deliver a message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to his brother Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Kuwait's new Emir, a statement by the ministry said on Saturday.
Sheikh Nawaf, 83, assumed power on 30 September following the death of Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, 91.
In October, the new Emir of Kuwait named his brother Mishaal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah as crown prince.
During his visit, the Egyptian ministry’s statement said, Shoukry is scheduled to meet with Sheikh Nawaf, the Crown Prince Mishaal, and the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Sabah, as well as top officials.
Shoukry will discuss in his meetings areas of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries and the recent developments in the Arab region and the regional arena, the foreign ministry said.
