Egypt detects 354 new coronavirus cases, 12 deaths on Monday

The country has recorded a total of 113,381 infections, including 6,560 deaths and 101,981 recoveries since the outbreak began in February

Egypt reported 354 new coronavirus cases on Monday, bringing the total infection tally to 113,381 since the outbreak began in February.

The health ministry also reported 12 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 6,560.

The statement said that 100 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 101,981.

This is the fifth consecutive day for the country's health ministry to register daily infections toll more than the 300 cases.

Egyptian officials have repeatedly warned of a rise in coronavirus cases nationwide, as the general public have been showing a relaxed enforcement of the preventive measures since a drop in coronavirus cases has been recorded in the past months.
