Egypt’s Sisi discusses regional developments with Trump in a telephone call

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi discussed on Thursday evening the latest regional developments with US President Donald Trump in a telephone call, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement.

El-Sisi exchanged views in the telephone call he received from Trump on regional issues of common interest. The two leaders also discussed issues of bilateral cooperation between Egypt and the United States, the presidential statement said.

During the telephone call, Trump stressed the value of the fruitful partnership and constructive cooperation between the United States and Egypt, and the centrality of the mutual understanding between the two countries in promoting security and stability in the Middle East.

The Egyptian presidency stated that El-Sisi expressed his gratitude and appreciation for Trump's efforts and contributions in consolidating the extended friendship between the two countries, wishing his counterpart all the best and prosperity for the United States of America and its people.

El-Sisi also affirmed that Egypt would continue to make efforts aimed at strengthening the strategic relations between the two countries in the interest of the two friendly peoples within a firm framework of common interests and mutual respect.
