Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Tuesday laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier under the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said.
An official military ceremony was held, and the Egyptian and French anthems were played, the spokesman added.
El-Sisi has started an official visit to Paris on Sunday, during which he held meetings with French President Emmanuel Macron, the defence, and foreign ministers, as well as the mayor of Paris to discuss issues of mutual interests and ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries.
Following their official talks on Monday, El-Sisi and Macron appeared in a joint press conference , saying they discussed regional issues, human rights, counter-terrorism efforts, and cooperation in various fields.
On Monday evening, Macron hosted a state banquet for El-Sisi at the Elysee Palace.
Speaking during the banquet, El-Sisi stressed more cooperation with France is required to promote tolerance, moderation, and acceptance of others.
