Egypt to host UN anti-corruption conference in 2021

Egypt appreciates the efforts exerted by the UN office to combat corruption despite the challenging circumstances resulting from the coronavirus pandemic

Egypt is set to host the 9th conference of the United Nations Convention against Corruption from 13 to 17 December 2021 in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mohamed Edrees announced.

Addressing an event organised by the UN Office on Drugs and Crimes on Wednesday on international anti-corruption day, Edrees voiced Egypt's appreciation for the efforts exerted by the UN office to combat corruption despite the challenging circumstances resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.

He also reviewed Egypt’s efforts in combating corruption, which are based on ensuring the principles of law, sovereignty, and respecting human rights.
