Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi urged continuous efforts to keep pace with growing technological development in the media field and boost communication mechanisms with all segments of the society.

El-Sisi’s remarks came in a meeting on Saturday with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and the Minister of State for Information Osama Heikal, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said.

The president’s directives in this regard aim at providing accurate and true information from credible sources, in a way that enhances social awareness and contributes to preserving the Egyptian identity, Rady said.

Heikal, during the meeting, reviewed with the president the most prominent strategic axes of the ministry’s work, aiming at consolidating commitment to media principles and ensuring credibility and transparency.

The ministry’s work strategy also aims at focusing on intellectual and media education for next generations, developing training programmes for media cadres and boosting media’s capability to deal with local and international events.

In a meeting in April with Heikal, El-Sisi urged media to abide by transparency and objectivity while covering crises’ developments and avoiding rumors.
