Head of Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church Pope Tawadros II announced the holding of the Christmas mass in Wadi El-Natron, with a limited number of participants over coronavirus fears.

The mass will be held at the Anba Bishoy Monastery and only a limited number of bishops and monks will be allowed to attend.

This comes few days after Egyptian Health Minister Hala Zayed announced that Egypt is suffering from a second wave of coronavirus.

The Orthodox Church earlier announced similar restrictions on religious gatherings until the end of January in Cairo and Alexandria.
