The Egyptian Medical Syndicate mourned on Wednesday the passing of four of its members, who died due to complications of the coronavirus.
According to the syndicate, Mona Ali Abdel-Wahad, a diagnostic radiology instructor; Faisal Youssef, an assistant professor of pediatrics; Hala Abaza, a clinical pathology professor at the University of Ain Shams; and Ahmed El-Siyad El-Refai, the pediatric specialist in Al-Mahmoudeya Central Hospital in Behaira governorate, have passed away due to complications of the virus.
The Medical Syndicate added that the recent deaths bring up the number of doctors who passed away due to the coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic in February 2020 to 307.
The syndicate also recorded the death of 31 of its members nationwide in the first ten days of 2021 due to the coronavirus.
The syndicate added that the average number of daily fatalities of its members due to the virus ranges between four to five deaths.
Egypt has reported 151,723 cases officially, including 119,635 recoveries and 8,304 fatalities.
