Alexandria's Port authority closed the straits of Alexandria and Dekheila ports for a second consecutive day on Sunday due to the bad weather conditions and high waves.
The Mediterranean port city of Alexandria is witnessing a week of inclement weather with gale force winds, which is expected to come to an end on Monday.
The decision was taken to guarantee the safety of passing ships, said Ahmed Berekaa, the spokesperson of Alexandria port, noting that the port's operation centre and crisis management is ready to receive any reports or mayday calls.
The meteorologists forecast a wave of unstable weather in the governorate, with light to moderate rainfall expected.
The governorate has urged caution to avoid the consequences of the foreseeable weather conditions.
