They also discussed the latest developments at the Arab and African levels and agreed to intensify efforts aimed at supporting Libyan parties to resume the peaceful settlement of their country's crisis.
They also voiced their support for Sudan and Somalia to complete the political transition period and restore stability, respectively.
The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam and agreed to hold the tenth meeting for general cooperation between the Arab League and the AU Commission in 2022 in Addis Ababa.
Abul-Gheit praised the AU’s stance in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Faki, meanwhile, said the AU will continue to support the Palestinian people to get their freedom and have an independent Palestinian state.
