The Food Export Council (FEC) said on Sunday 55 major Egyptian companies operating in the food industries and agricultural crops will take part in the Gulfood 2021 exhibition hosted by Dubai World Trade Center on February 21-25.
The 26th exhibition of Gulfood is the first major live, in-person Food and Beverages (F&B) industry event since the pandemic first shook the world a year ago.
The 2021's edition of the exhibition hosts over 2500 exhibitors from 85 countries.
In a statement, the council said Gulfood is the world’s largest annual food and beverage exhibition which attracts F&B professionals from all over the world to Dubai.
The UAE market is one of the important markets importing Egyptian food products with imports reaching 134 million dollars in 2020, the statement said.
Egyptian exhibitors will display their products in four halls in the event due to the variety of the products that include cooking oil, pickles, olive oil, snacks, crackers, desserts, juices, honey and jam, pasta, sauces, food additives, baking ingredients, fast-made meals, tomato sauce, in addition to dairy, meat and poultry products, legumes and grains.
Egypt has been taking part in the exhibition for almost 20 years now.
